Hi everyone,

Erins mouth sores are a little better today, but still not good. We need her counts to go up and then healing will happen - it takes longer for counts to go up after each treatment.

Last night the boys went to MONSTER TRUCKS so Barb and Taylor visited. Today grandma came over and we played farkle. Tim and Nadine also stopped by.

We have our appt. tomorrow, so please have us in your thoughts at noon.

It's a beautiful day and it is nice to be home. Erin is doing pretty good. Today she has pain from mouth sores, we are hoping it will get better each day. We have been resting watching the softball championship games.

We want to let everyone know that Erin has an MRI scheduled for Monday at noon. We will get the results on Tuesday and of course will let everyone know the results when we get them. Please say an extra prayer for us Monday.

Hope you all have a nice day.

Love, Lori and Erin

Another long stay...

but, able to come home today! Finally. The only upset is that my counts are still kinda low, which means that I am going to be taking it easy for a little while. Monday, I have a doctor's appointment, and will hopefully find out if my counts are better. Then I will feel better having company over.

Anyone who is interested in visiting, keep up with my blog and I will sure to text you or call you with a good time.

Thank you all!
Love you so much.

Hey everyone,

Well yesterday was a rough day for both me and Erin. As you know this has been a very long road, most of which has been an uphill climb. I think we are both just missing our everyday life and are tired of spending so much time in the hospital.

On a brighter note- today is a better day and Erin is feeling better. In order to go home the rate of her feeding tube has to be at 70. It is now at 45 and we are trying to increase it by 5 every 4 hours, if she can tolerate that she will be at 70 by tomorrow at 8am. If this along with her need for pain med is controlled we should be able to come home soon.

Hope that you are all having a good day. We miss you all more than you know. Please continue praying for our family.

With love, Lori and Erin

So gradually, I am starting to feel better and my virus is starting to go away. Thank goodness! The doctor said that I may be able to go home soon if I can start handling the stomach pain, which is looking good. Knock on wood.

Today was a pretty good day, with Susie visiting at lunch time, and Carol Lynn visiting a little later. Can't wait to see who visits tomorrow.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers!
Love you all!

Although Erin is still not feeling great we ended up having a pretty good day. Kimber visited this morning and Erins friend Amanda came with her mom. So that means I went for two walks today. Im afraid the word is going to get out that I will make visitors go for a walk AND take the stairs!

Im looking forward to seeing Adam tonight, I miss him. Im sure he had a great time camping. Not much else going on, waiting for this stomach virus to go away. The docs are saying it takes a person in good health 7-10 days to get rid of virus, so we have to expect it to take longer.

Thanks to everyone for thinking and praying for us.

Mom's back
Monday, May 25, 2009 6:35 PM

Hey everyone.

Today was a pretty good day, Brooke, Eric and Ethan came up early and that is always fun. After they left, my mom went for a walk and I took a little nap until the HUGE SU lax game! Could you believe it!!!! I think I almost fell out of my hospital bed!

Now, dad is here and we are just hanging out and waiting for the lady to come change my picc line dressing...my favorite thing to do...

Love you all,
Please keep up the prayers, they are working!!

Days with Dad
Sunday, May 24, 2009 12:40 PM

To tell you the truth, they go by faster with my dad here than with my mom here. But, I love it either way. Today, my dad and I slept in a little bit, got showered and dressed, then went to playing Yahtzee and I am dominating! :) But he is good too.

Plans for today are to hopefully get outside a little bit, and maybe see Katlyn or get to talk to her mom or dad. Then who knows? Maybe there will be something good on TV or something, which there never is!

Looking like I am going to miss Memorial Day, but I don't really ever remember celebrating it...

See you all asap!
Love,
Erin Renee

Hey everyone! Day by day, things are gradually getting better, which is good. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

If you didn't already know, there was a volleyball tournament at Oswego for me, and it was very successful. Thanks Coach Nicklaw!

It means a lot to me that everyone is still caring and supporting!

Love,
Erin Renee

p.s. Please pray for my friend Katlyn who is currently in ICU due to a motor vehicle accident.

Friday
Friday, May 22, 2009 4:53 PM

Well... another week has come to an end. Once again Erin is doing a little better today than yesterday. I would guess she might come home early next week, which would still give us a break before next treatment starts.

Today we were surprised by a visit from my friend Mary (Sciacca) Moore. I was maid of honor in her wedding and Erin was flower girl. I think Erin was five. Mary brought pictures and we had a very nice visit.

This weekend Adam is going camping with his friend Derek and his family. So Karen, Derek, and Adam came to visit and say goodbye before they went camping. Thank-you to the Mayer family for bringing Adam,I know he will have a great time.

John went home to mow lawn and clean pool before his weekend stay at hospital. He should be here soon so I will get my stuff together now.

One of Erin's classmates was involved in a car accident. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with Katlyn Fleury and her family.

Have a nice weekend,
Love, Lori and Erin

THURSDAY
Thursday, May 21, 2009 6:45 PM

Hi Everyone,

Erin's feeling a little better again today, and has been up more. Really no other changes and we still don't know when we will be going home.

Today I made Kimber walk with me, I think she had trouble keeping up.(NOT!!!)
This was a special day for me because I had two very special people visit. Kimber spent the first half of the day with us and Karen is here spending the second half!!

Hope you all have a good day,

Love, Lori and Erin

Quiet day
Wednesday, May 20, 2009 2:51 PM

Hi All,

Another quiet day, again Erin spending the majority of the day sleeping. She does feel a little better today, hopefully this is a pattern that will continue. I have been going for walks everyday and always use the stairs instead of the elevator for some exercise, we are on the seventh floor so thats a lot of stairs.

Speaking of exercise...we would like to give special thanks to teams ROTEN and STEWART for honoring Erin in the Relay for Life. Just another example of the very special people in our lives, who are supporting us in so many ways. We will be thinking of you on the fifth and look forward to hearing all about the event. Many thanks and love to all who participate.

Visitors today include Tim and Grandma!!!

Love to all, Lori and Erin

Really no changes from yesterday. Erin still pretty much feeling the same and spends most of the day sleeping. This is hard for me because I just want to talk to her. Nadine came during lunch and we went for a nice walk. Barb and Dave came in the afternoon and Carol Lynn came after work. Thanks to all for visiting it means a lot to me, and helps me get through the tough days.

Love, Lori

Back to 7H
Monday, May 18, 2009 6:29 PM

As John posted last night our stay at home was very short. After six hours in the ER we finally got readmitted. Erin was too weak to be home, having stomach problems which caused her to become dehydrated. She tested positive for a viral infection, added to the "normal" chemo side effects, results in Erin not feeling so good. Hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Have a good night, please continue to pray for Erin.

Love, Lori

Sunday May 17
Sunday, May 17, 2009 8:07 PM

Hi everyone,
Well our trip home has not gone as well as we had hoped. We had to bring Erin back into the ER at 4:00 today and we are thinking they will put her back up on 7H tonight. She is having a lot of the same complications from the treatment that she had last time and she will be better off in the hospital. Sorry no one was able to come see her while she was home but hopefully she will be feeling better soon.

Love
John

Home Again
Saturday, May 16, 2009 6:01 PM

Just a quick message to let you know Erin came home today. She does not feel that well which is to be expected as she had chemo this morning. Otherwise we are all happy to be home and hopefully Erin will feel better each day. My mom just came to visit, maybe we will play Farkle.

Have a nice day,

Love, Lori and Erin

Day 5
Friday, May 15, 2009 2:56 PM

Hi to all,

It's hard to believe that it is Friday already, this week has gone by fast. So that means John will come after work today and I will go home for the weekend. Not sure yet as to when Erin will be coming home, but things are looking good so it may be soon, she is definitely keeping her fingers crossed.

This round of treatment will end tomorrow morning at 8am. One more to check off the list!!! Erin is feeling okay. She is still getting headaches and her stomach is bothering her.

Have a nice weekend,

Love, Lori and Erin

Day 4
Thursday, May 14, 2009 9:31 AM

Good morning,

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love "my girl" and how very proud I am of her. I would also like to mention how proud I am of "my boy" and of course "my mister". How does one person get blessed with the amazing family and friends that I have? I love you all sooo much.

Yesterday was a very busy day for us. Speaking of amazing family and friends check out this list of visitors. My mister, Susan, Nadine, Kimber, Carol Lynn, and Olga all in one day at different times. And today Karen is getting out of work at noon and spending the day with us!!!

Erin is doing well with this round. She has had sinus headaches, and some mouth sores, all of which is very manageable. Two more days of treatment, next tment starts around June 5 with an MRI scheduled prior to tment.

Hope you all have a good day.

Love, Lori and Erin

TOP 100
Wednesday, May 13, 2009 8:59 PM

Hi everyone,

I just want to take a second and explain something you may be reading in a couple of the messages in the guest book. Erin made what is called the Top 100 at her high school, these are the top 25 students in each grade 9-12.

Lori and I have been proud to attend these dinners since Erin was in middle school, but I have never been as proud as I was tonight when I was able to walk up and accept Erins' award for her for being 3rd in her class. I couldn't stop smiling as I was standing up there with all of the other 10th grade students, and then they were gracious enough to let me read a note that Erin had prepared for me to read to the audience, the applause was awesome. I told the kids that were up there with me I hope that their pictures aren't ruined because there is an old guy in the photo with them, but I don't think any of them minded.

I just wanted to let everyone know how proud we are of Erin and how with all of the love and support we have from EVERYONE we will get through this stronger than ever. Thank-you all.

Love,
John

Day 3
9:29 AM

Hi all,

So far this treatment has gone better than we expected. Erin started feeling not so good last night with getting sick and having a headache. This morning she is feeling better but is very tired. Even though she got sick she says she feels stronger body wise than previous treatments, Im sure that is due to the fact that her feeding tube is working and she has been able to eat. Chemo continues today, we are expecting some visitors and school work if she feels up to it. Oh yeah and play our new favorite game FARKLE ( thanks buddy!!).

Barbie thanks for visiting last night.

Have a good day everyone, Love Lori and Erin

Special thanks to Suzie Gray and Amy Gass for writing in guest book so often. Iam looking forward to meeting Suzie, I know Amy from softball but not that well. My hope is that Erin becomes good friends with both of you. You girls are very special.

Day 2
Tuesday, May 12, 2009 9:53 AM

Good morning everyone,

Treatments all started yesterday, and are scheduled to be almost continuous until Saturday morning. So far though, everything is going well.

To keep busy, I am going to be doing some school work (yay...) and then me and mom will probably play a couple of games.

Thank you all for keeping updated, and keeping me in your prayers.

Love you,
Erin Renee

Back Again....
Monday, May 11, 2009 1:00 PM

Well today I am back at the hospital for yet again another treatment, and we really don't know how long this could be. If everything goes well, I am scheduled to be here about a week.

It was a great weekend home, it is always nice to have a couple day break!

Love you all!
Erin Renee <3 :)

My mom or I will keep you updated on how I am doing throughout the week.

Happy to be Home
Friday, May 8, 2009 1:59 PM

So not much happened today. After I got ready, I wrote a bunch of cards, ate lunch with Karen and mom and the tutor just came and is leaving now. The rest of the night isn't busy either, Uncle Tim and Aunt Nadine are planning on coming over and that's all that I know of.

Everything is going good! Love you all so much!

Erin Renee

Back Home!
Thursday, May 7, 2009 5:05 PM

Well, we are all shocked because this treatment actually went the way that it is supposed to go. But that means that I get to be home for the weekend, and for Mother's Day, and my mom is excited about that.

Next treatment starts right back up on Monday, but hopefully that won't be too bad.

Thanks to everyone who had anything to do with the benefit! It was just perfect, a day that I will never forget.

Love you all,
Erin Renee <3

day 3
Wednesday, May 6, 2009 2:36 PM

Well, good news and not so good news.

Not so good...my hands are starting to hurt. Good...my level is already way down and I might be home for the weekend.

Last night, just dad and Adam came up to visit, but tonight I am expecting Susie, Kimber, dad but no Adam. Oh, and now possibly Carol Lynn. It's going to be a full house!! Good thing I have this private room!

Love you all,
Erin Renee <3

day 2
Tuesday, May 5, 2009 4:43 PM

Hi everyone,

Well Erin actually started treatment yesterday. To help to avoid the bad side effects of her hands and feet during this four hour treatment they had Erin soak her hands in buckets of ice the whole time. This was very difficult for her but she made it through so lets pray that it works. Today she had a spinal tap, which at this point she has had so many that she doesn't get bothered by them. These two things were suppose to be done at the end of last treatment but were delayed. Now we wait for her levels to clear and then start next treatment, most likely right away. Yesterday Susan was smart and took the day after benefit off so she came and visited - guess what we talked about! Thanks again and again to everyone who made our day so special.

Please continue to pray for Erin

Love,
Lori

P.S. BIG GAME tonight!! C.S. lax vs C.N.S. varsity girls - my niece coaches C.N.S. she will be interviewed by channel 9 talking about Erin.

benefit !!!!!
Monday, May 4, 2009 12:45 PM

Hi Everyone,

Honestly, we don't even know where to begin, or if words alone will ever be enough to describe how we feel. Yesterday is a day which our family will never forget. From the moment we were picked up by the limo to the time we arrived home at 8pm it was a day filled with so much love, support, and generosity.

We were truly overwhelmed by the amount of people who attended the benefit. It was just amazing! There were friends that John and I went to school with who we have not seen since our graduation, and of course all our family and friends, some of which traveled quite a distance.

Once again, thank you to everyone. We appreciate all of you for everything you have done to make our benefit so successful. We are back at the hospital now and Erin has been talking none stop with all the staff about what a wonderful day she had yesterday!

With love,
Lori and John

2 Days Left
Saturday, May 2, 2009 12:08 PM

So I have to go back to the hospital on Monday, and I hate for this break to end, but I am looking forward to my benefit tomorrow and seeing everyone that I haven't seen in a while.

The last week has been very interesting. I thought I was going to have to go back to the hospital early, because I was getting fevers and I was having trouble breathing, plus I fainted at Kinney's. But when I went to the doctors yesterday, we found the cause of these troubles and things are already getting better.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
Thank you for all that you have done!
Love always,
Erin Renee <3
