Good day, but not a busy day at all. Stayed at home until my brothers game, the first one this year that the whole family could go to, and he scored 3 goals!!! :)

Hope everything is going well with everyone else.

Love you all,
Erin Renee

Monday, June 29, 2009 5:34 PM

So today, I had a doctors appointment and Dr. Cherrick said that I should start my next treatment Monday. I am glad that it starts Monday too because I will be able to go to my benefit party on Friday and the 4th of July party at my uncles on Saturday.

And, I am feeling pretty good, but, I have this little cold thing coming on and it stinks! Hopefully it will go away soon.

I love you all!

Well, we are home again but it took them like 7 hours to discharge me! What a pain. Dad and I are going to go up to East Coast to see Mom and Adam and everyone else for a little bit and then come home and probably go strait to bed...

Not much exciting happened today.

Erin and John

Thursday - Friday
Friday, June 26, 2009 6:39 PM

Hi everyone,

Sorry I didn't write yesterday. We had a rough day, starting Thursday at 3am Erin started having involuntary body movements. Along with this she was having a lot of back pain and high blood pressure. This all lasted until about 1pm. To help determine the cause of all of this Erin had another CT scan and MRI all of which showed no problems. Turns out it was a reaction to an antibiotic she was on, it is now out of her system and she is better. Talk about scary, especially for Erin. John came when this all started and ended up spending the night with Erin as I went home to get some much needed sleep, of course I was well taken care of by my BFF's (thanks girls).

Friday- I am back at the hospital after a good nights sleep. John has left to go to work for a little while and then go home to mow the lawn and take care of the pool. Erin is much better today and they have actually given her the option of going home today. It is nice to know that clinically they feel she is ready to go home but mentally neither Erin or I are quite ready yet. Due to all of the side effects she has been experiencing and all of the incidents we have had at home it can be very scary to be away from the hospital where help is only the push of a button away. So Erin will stay until we all feel comfortable with her going home. The weekend plan is for john to come back to stay with Erin and i am going camping with some family and friends, Adam is already there and I can't wait to spend time with him. Hope all of you have a great weekend.

Love,
Lori, John, Erin and Adam

Hey everyone,

Erin had a good day today. It was a day filled with many visitors, Susan, Olga, Tim, Brooke, Uncle Dave, and Carol Lynn. Also Adam came with John and because of lacrosse we haven't seen him since Sunday. So you can see why this was a good day.

There was never any infection found so we are waiting for counts to go up and make sure feeding tube is working okay(so far so good).

We hope you all had a good day.

Love, Lori and Erin

Back on 7h!!!
Tuesday, June 23, 2009 2:24 PM

Hey everyone,

Now we can add one more thing to our been there done that list. One of which we hope to never have to do again. We don't really have any answers at this time as to infection or no infection. But... we want you all to know that Erin is feeling much better, and is even doing her Spanish regents.

John is spending the day with us again today! Kimber came last night and stayed until about 1 am. Karen is coming tonight and Carol Lynn is coming tomorrow - have I ever mentioned I have the BEST FRIENDS in the world !?

Hope you all have a good day.

Love, Lori and John

Monday
Monday, June 22, 2009 5:51 PM

Well it sure is Monday...

Not a good day for us. Starting on 7h with Erin having a lot of pain (stomach), also elevated heart rate, low counts, and got to the point that she was not able to respond to us. So we have moved to I C U . Erin must have an infection which is causing all of this. Testing is being done to determine where the infection is. After an xray of stomach can you believe the STUPID feeding tube moved AGAIN and had to be taken out. We will once again have that replaced after we figure all this out. Next test will be a CT scan of stomach, that will be later tonight. John is with us, and right now Erin is doing okay. We will keep you all updated with info. as we get it. We are not able to use cell phones, when we are in the room they are off.

Please continue praying for Erin.

Love, Lori and John

P.S. Danielle thank you for all the kind things you say about our family. You girls are all very special.

back to hospital
Sunday, June 21, 2009 6:56 AM

Good morning all,

Yesterday afternoon Erin did not feel good at all. She had a low grade fever and was in a lot of discomfort, overall body aches. She became very weak to the point that she could barely stand. During this time John and Adam were in Cortland for lacrosse. But THANKFULLY my friend Karen was with me, we ended up taking Erin to the E.R. were they admitted her back to 7h. Once she was given pain med and IV fluids she began to feel better. John came and ended up spending the night with Erin.

This morning it is tradition that my family meets at my dads grave and then we all go out for fathers day brunch. Adam and I will do this and then head up to the hospital to be with John and Erin.

Happy Fathers day to all of you dads, I hope you all enjoy your day. Of course to my mister, happy fathers day! I love you so much and I think Erin and Adam have the BEST DAD in the world. Thank you for being the man that you are.

Please continue praying for Erin.

Love, Lori

Hey everyone,

Unfortunately Erin is not feeling good today, but was able to take her Global regents, so that was a good accomplishment. She had a appt. on 5c today and she got platelets.
I'm thinking these out patient treatments aren't going to be as easy as we thought. I should have known better by now. Next treatment will begin around the beginning of July.

We are hoping that tomorrow will be a better day for Erin.

Have a good night,
Love, Lori and John

P.S I have to "brag" about our boy. Considering all our family has gone through this year Adam has ended the year receiving the PRESIDENTIAL AWARD which means his overall average was a 90 or above. We are so proud of Adam!!!!

Well, I started off the day by attempting my Biology Regents, but since I have only taken about half the course, most of the test was foreign to me and I couldn't do it.

During the test, Kimber came over, and she reassured me that it was okay to not be able to take the test today. Then, around 2:30, Grandma came over with a surprise visit and we played May I. But, after I started not feeling well, nausea and body aches, but they come and go, and I just have to fight through it.

Everything should be getting better soon.
Global Regents and doctors appointment tomorrow, hopefully it all goes well.

Lots of love,
Erin Renee

holy visitors
Wednesday, June 17, 2009 4:09 PM

So far today, the tutor came over first, and left around 2:30. After that, Susie and Grandma came over and played May I and then Kimber came over and joined us for a game of 65. Also, Tim stopped by with a surprise visit, but not for long.

So it has been a pretty busy day, but fun. No major plans for the rest of the night, but I'm sure we will find something to do.

Love you all!
So happy to be home.
Erin Renee

Back home!!!
Tuesday, June 16, 2009 7:51 PM

Hi everyone,

We are home after our last scheduled in patient treatment!!! I am typing this because Erin is sleeping but I wanted everyone to know we are home. Erin's feet are still sore but much better. I have to say we will definitely miss all the staff on 7h, we met and were cared for by some very special people. I hope we showed our appreciation of all of you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

As for the remaining treatments, we have three more out patient. We have appt Friday and will keep you updated with our schedule.

Thanks to all of you for caring enough to check on Erin's progress.

Once again to all of you on 7h, may God bless you as you are a blessing to so many patients and their family.

Love, Lori, John, Erin and Adam

Monday
Monday, June 15, 2009 3:55 PM

Hi everyone,

Well I am back at the hospital with Erin after a very busy weekend home. I did a lot of visiting and spent time with my mom, Tim, Nadine, Brooke, Ethan, Karen, Dr. Howil and Olga. And last but certainly not least Adam and Teddy!!

Today has been a little better for Erin than the weekend was. Her feet are not as bad, we now have to wait for her levels to get to certain point before she would be able to go home, and then of course having the pain under control.

We hope that you are all doing well and look forward to spending more time at home, with the ability to spend more time with all of you.

Have a good night,

Love, Lori and Erin

Day 4 (Sunday)
Sunday, June 14, 2009 4:16 PM

So, as you all know, some of the chemo drugs give me some nasty burns on my hands and feet but, to try and prevent that, I soaked my hands and feet while that drug was being infused. Unfortunately, I still ended up with some pretty bad burns on my feet and I have been on pain meds like around the clock. Its no fun!

But, I just have to keep reminding myself that this is the last major chemo and things should be getting better from now on.

Because chemo is just ending, it might be a while before I have visitors. Sorry everyone, I have to wait for my counts to come up! I will keep you updated on how everything is going though.

Love you all so much,
Erin Renee

3rd day here
Saturday, June 13, 2009 11:49 AM

So, I have been feeling alright lately, just extremely tired. Yesterday, I slept pretty much all day and today I am pretty much just planning on relaxing while I get my last day of chemo for this treatment.

Hopefully everything keeps going well, and it will be nice because my mom, adam, uncle tim, aunt nadine and ethan are all coming up. That will be good to see everyone, even if I'm not feeling so hot.

All of your prayers are appreciated.
I love each and everyone of you!
Erin Renee

OHHHH....
Friday, June 12, 2009 5:27 PM

I really want to thank everyone in school who has signed my yearbook! That will always mean a ton to me and I will always keep it!

THANK YOU!

2nd day back
5:22 PM

Well today, my main treatment consisted of a spinal tap, some pills, and a 30 minuted infusion of doxo. It all went well but because they sedate me for the spinal tap, I became very tired and slept for about the wholeeeeeee day! I was so tired...better now.

Mom just left for her weekend off, and dad took over, which is fine with me.
Tomorrow is pretty much the same with treatment, except no spinal tap!
And then, all I have to do is wait for my Methotrexate level to go down before I leave. Hopefully it is only 72 hours like last time!

Love you all,
Erin Renee

Hey everyone,

Well as you all know we are back at the hospital. The first thing we had done was have feeding tube fixed. This was uncomfortable for Erin, but not too bad. Unfortunately at this time Erin is soaking her hands and feet in ice water (during 4hr chemo tment to help avoid side affects) and it is very painful for her. John even put his hand in with hers to help. There will be three days of chemo this round.

Have a good night and please keep Erin in your prayers.

Love, Lori and Erin

Last Day Home
Wednesday, June 10, 2009 7:08 PM

So I started the day off with the tutor coming over, and I am happy to say that I have completed Social Studies, English and Spanish...except I still have to take the regents. As for Bio and Math, I am going to have to finish the work in the summer and probably take the regents in August. Which it is great that I have that option!

Then, Kimber and Karen were here for lunch, and Karen stayed til about 5:30, when my mom and I went to my cousin Benjamin's baseball game. Now, I am going to eat dinner and have a good night's sleep in my own bed before I have to go back to the hospital for a little while.

We will continue to keep you updated while I am in the hospital.
Love you all,
Erin :) <3

Well, after yesterday's little incident, the next couple of days aren't going to be as exciting as the last few have been. But, they still shouldn't be too bad...I just have to take it easy.

Today, I have a couple of little things to do for school before the tutor comes and I have to work with my mom to get ready to go back to the hospital. We want to get that work done today because tomorrow Karen has a half day and we will spend the day with her! Tonight, the tutor is coming over and I may have some visitors, but I am not sure.

I hope you all are having a good day!

Love,
Erin Renee

Hi all,

Well we started the day off with a visit to 5c where we received news that all counts are good and should be chemo ready for Thursday. After appt. big surprise Erin wanted to go shopping, so we did and we had a good time.

THEN... when we got home Erin felt sick, and to spare you some details, while getting sick her feeding tube was coming out of her mouth. I had no idea this could happen and needless to say it was very scary for both me and Erin. So off to the ER we went. Long story short, this does not usually happen, but has been known to happen before. Xray showed no damage done and they are leaving as is until appt. on Thursday, when they will reposition it.

Now... I am ready for bed and will be praying for a stress free day tomorrow.

Good night,
Love, Lori

Sunday
Sunday, June 7, 2009 12:35 PM

So today is also going to be a good day. Mom is out with her friend Carol Lynn for a while so I am going to stay home with Adam and Dad til about 3:00 when I am going to go to my Uncle Tim and Aunt Nadine's house for dinner with Kimber's whole family. It really should be a lot of fun! I can't wait!

So far, this weekend really is turning out great!
I love you all,
Erin Renee :)

Busy Day Saturday
Saturday, June 6, 2009 7:17 PM

Well, we got up early, got ready, and went to East Coast Resorts to meet Aunt Barb, Uncle Dave, Taylor and Ben with Susie and Corrie. It was a lot of fun playing cards and Farkle. And while we were there my brother and dad were at a lacrosse tournament, they ended up 1-2. After, we came back home to my Aunt Laurie and Matt, which was also a good visit. They are still here, and we are going to go to Kimber's for a bonfire which should be great! I can't wait! Tomorrow is also going to be just as busy.

Also, I want to make sure and thank all of those in Gloversville right now who are running in the Relay For Life for me today! That's wonderful!

Thank you all for all that you are doing.
Love always,
Erin

Friday
8:50 AM

First, we started off the day with a very quick doctors appointment where we found out that I probably won't go back to the hospital til like the end of next week. Then, Karen came over for lunch and after that the tutor came over for a little while. I am really getting caught up with school work because of this break.

After they all left, I had a little time to rest before Suzie, Amy and Amanda came over to visit. My mom was happy to finally have met Suzie. We had a lot of fun, sharing memories and old stories. It was great!

Let me know if you want to visit and we will come up with a good time.
Love you all so much!
Erin Renee <3 :)

Thursday, June 4, 2009 6:59 PM

Hi everyone,

After our two doctor appts we have more good news. Erin's counts are going up and the best news today for me was that her eyes are perfect, which was a concern of mine with all of her double vision and blurred vision, all of which is now gone.

Tonight my mom and Aunt Bill are coming over. We will probably play cards!!

Another doc appt tomorrow checking counts again, and we will probably get date of next treatment.

Have a good night,

Lori and Erin

Wednesday
Wednesday, June 3, 2009 5:56 PM

So today was a pretty good day. Just kinda relaxed and everything until the tutor came around 11:45. After her, Karen visited, Kimber visited, and I took the speaking part of my Spanish regents, which went really well.

Also, it is beautiful outside, which always helps make it a better day!

Love you all!!!
Busy day tomorrow with some doctors appointments.

Erin Renee <3

Tuesday, June 2, 2009 7:25 PM

We had a very busy day today. I am very tired but for the first time in a very long time I couldn't sleep but for good reasons. I think I spent half the night thanking God for our good news.

Today Erin had a drs appt and she needed platelets, they are still very low so she will not be starting her next treatment until sometime next week. After drs we went to lunch and then shopping. Then Erin's friends Caity and Amanda came over and my friend Carol Lynn. When they left the tutor came and Erin worked with her for an hour and half. So like I said we had a very busy day, but very enjoyable.

Now we are going to watch the softball world series. Hope you all have a good night.

Love, Lori and Erin

Thank God!!!
Monday, June 1, 2009 6:07 PM

We just received our phone call from Dr. Cherrick saying the results of Erin's MRI show that she is CANCER FREE!!!!

Of course we must start with thanking God, and all of you for all the prayers. We are so blessed to have so many special people in our lives.

Erin will now complete treatment as scheduled. She will begin a series of four maintenance chemo. treatments. As of right now the first treatment will be inpatient, but easier than previous treatments. The remaining treatments will most likely be out patient.

So... we still have a ways to go, but we now know what we are going through is well worth it. Please continue praying for us as we begin our downhill ride.

Love to all, Lori, John, Erin and Adam

Back Home
4:23 PM

So, I did say I would write again today, and update you all on what happened today. Well, we will not know the results to the MRI until tomorrow, but my counts are going up a little bit. I do have to go back tomorrow to get them checked again to make sure that I can start on Friday.

Thanks for all the extra love and prayers today.
Love,
Erin

MRI today (Monday)
9:18 AM

Well, today is the big day...and I have been praying really hard that everything goes well, and I know that everyone else is praying for me too. Thank you so much, it is great to know that so many people care. And since everything else has turned out good before, I am sure that your prayers are working.

I will be sure to keep you all updated as soon as I find anything out. Today, I will probably write again just to say how my doctor's appointment went, and tomorrow I will know the results of the MRI.

Thanks again everyone.
I love you all!
Erin Renee <3 :)
