What we have been praying, fighting and living for over the last nine months, has come to an end. We have received the MRI results, and all is clear.
As a family, we fought this fight together. John, Adam and I doing all in our power to love, support and care for Erin. What can I say for Erin? She gave this battle all she had to give and then some. She was determined to never give up and in the end, came out stronger than ever. As parents, we are blessed with two very special children and we thank god for them every day.
We will not miss our home away from home (7H), where we spent so much time these last nine months. But, we will miss and be forever grateful to all of the wonderful nurses and doctors. Special thanks of course, to Dr. Cherrick. We thank god for you. Melissa and Brooke, two very special people, who are not only top notch nurses but also had the ability to make us laugh, provide emotional support, along with comfort and friendship.
To all our family and friends, believe me when I say our hearts are overflowing with love. For all you have done, each in your own unique way, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Karen, Kimber, and Carol Lynn, my best friends, I honestly don't think I could have made it through this journey without you.
Erin will continue to be checked with MRI's every 3 months. Please continue your prayers for her continued healing. Also pray for my friend Joan, whose daughter Robin passed away this week.
May God bless you all.
With love,
Lori, John, Erin and Adam

So it is final! Both MRI results have come back and both were clear. It has been a long journey, and I have fought hard, and never gave up, and I am so glad that everything turned out well, not like I ever thought anything different. I want to thank everyone who kept me and my family in your prayers, and I especially would like to thank those of you who came to visit me when I when I was in the hospital. Words can't even begin to describe how thankful I am for everything that people have done for me. And, I am so happy that I now do not have to go into the hospital for another month, and it is just for a check up!
Also, some other good news is that school is going great. Classes are good, and I was just nominated for homecoming "princess" and I am very excited. On Tuesday, my classmates will decide if I become homecoming princess, or one of the two other girls does. But, even if I don't get chosen, it feels great to at least be nominated.
This isn't great news, but not bad, I am just getting over a cold. When I was sick, it was not that fun...but I feel a lot better now.
And with most good news, comes bad news...and my bad news is that Robin, the girl that I have been asking you to pray for, has passed away. I truely believe that those of you who read this, did pray for her, but for some reason God believed that it was time to take her. But now, I would like to ask you to pray for her family to stay strong during this devastating time.
Also, please keep praying for my friend Katlyn, who has not yet come out of her coma.
Thank you all,
Love always,
Erin Renee

Hey,
I am very sorry that I haven't posted in a while. If you normally only get your information from my blog, then I have led you to believe that I am still in the hospital, but, that is not true. Actually, I have been out since Monday afternoon, and back at school Tuesday. Everything seems to be going good. I am liking my teachers, and feeling good throughout the day. I hope all of you are having good days and all kids are enjoying school as much as they can.
Love,
Erin Renee

So, the first week of school went well, unfortunately, it doesn't look like I am going to be there much of the second week. Friday night I came in to the ER with a fever, they drew blood and cultures, and then sent me home. And I was told to come back to 7H this morning just to check counts and everything, and again they sent me home right away saying my counts were pretty good but wanted to check me Friday. But, a couple hours later, they called my mom and said I had to be admitted because one of my cultures grew. Sweet.... So here I am, with my PICC line now removed and just waiting to make sure everything is going okay....
Hopefully I will be out soon.
Again, please say an extra prayer for my friend Robin because she is still having difficulties from here bone marrow transplant. And, for Katlyn, who is seeing improvements with her coma but unfortunately is still in a coma.
Thank you,
Love,
Erin Renee <3

We made it! Tonight at 9:30 will be my LAST dose of chemo. Sometimes, looking back, I don't know how we made it. The last 8 1/2 months have been extremely tough, but we fought through with the love and support from our family and friends. It would have been a lot harder without you all. I really feel blessed to have a family and friends like you. Words can't even explain how appreciative I am. Thank you so much. Throughout this journey, there were times that I could have just given up, but I couldn't imagine being away from any of you, especially my mom, dad, and Adam. They all mean the world to me, and you all know we were close before, and we are even closer now. Didn't think that was possible. I love them so much, with all of my heart.
Even though we are at the end, I ask you to please pray that everything stays well. And, also please pray for my friend Robin, who is experiencing difficulties from a bone marrow transplant, and for my friend Katlyn, who remains in a coma after a terrible car accident and for kids who have also been affected by cancer, like myself.
My hope is that everyone will appreciate the people in their lives, because you never know when something devastating could happen. Live life with no regrets.
I love you all so much.

Done with Day "1" or Day 2 as we think of it...
And, I am doing alright...kind of tired, and a little nauseous but trying to eat as much as I can. Tonight, I am alone with Dad and Adam, because mom went to Rochester to visit Joan, Robin's mom. Robin stayed in a room with me at Upstate before I was diagnosed with VRE and given a private room. She was transferred to Rochester a couple of months ago for a bone marrow transplant and right now she is dealing with complications.
Tomorrow is the last day that I have to go to the hospital for treatment and I am very excited, but kind of nervous that it is ending...but it will be good.
I have come so far in the last 8 months. Thank you all for your prayers!!
Love,
Erin <3

So the first day of chemo is usually called day 0. But technically today is the first day of my final 5 day chemp treatment!! No more after Friday! I am so happy. And this one shouldn't cause very bad side effects.
Also, school starts next Tuesday and I am pretty excited. A little bit of mixed emotions, but still can't wait! Plus, I got to go back to school shopping yesterday, and you all just know how much I love shopping! :) And, it was a success, lots of new clothes.
I hope you all are enjoying summer, and everyone who has to go back to school shopping is enjoying it as much as I did!!
Love you all,

Today, we went to Brooke's house because she was having a garage sale, and now I am studying for my permit test. Ahh...I am excited to get it.
I hope you all are having a good summer, possibly enjoying the fair?!

Well, these are long nights, having to wake up at 1:00 to start antibiotics, and then waking up again at 3:00 to disconnect. But, today looks like it might be a pretty descent day. Mom and Adam are in Gloversville (and I wish i was there) but me and Dad are both home just hanging out. We don't have much planned, going to my Uncle Craig's house to visit, and then dropping off the cans and bottles. Then later, maybe something else will come up, who knows?
It's pretty nice out. Hope you all are enjoying the weather!

Good morning all,
We were discharged yesterday afternoon. Erin was without a fever for 24 hrs, but one of her cultures did grow, showing evidence of some type of infection. Because it took so long to grow the doctors thought it was an infection that we could take care of at home as long as we were willing to continue with the IV antibiotics. So that is what we are doing, every 8 hrs for the next 4 days. Otherwise Erin is feeling good.
Tomorrow me, Adam, my mom, and Karen are going to my cousin Michelle's house for a party. Unfortunately Erin is not going because of her antibiotic tments., so John and her will stay home.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
Love, Lori

Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to catch you all up on whats going on. On Monday at 2am we went to the er as Erin had a fever and pain from her feeding tube site. We were in the er being treated with antibiotics and pain med and remained there until 3pm. Then Erin was admitted to 7h.
Tuesday they removed the feeding tube. (which made Erin very happy!!!) We are hoping and it seems to be that this was the reason for fever and source of infection. At this time the fever has subsided and the pain is gone. We will remain in hospital until she is without a fever for 24 hours.
GOOD NEWS...
Erin took her math and biology regents and scored 89 on bio and 87 on math b!!!. She has now officially finished and passed 10th grade. We are very proud of Erin =)
Hope you are all doing well.
Love, Lori

As most of you already know, throughout all of this I have been tutored by Anne Beasley, which has worked out great. And, in June I was able to finish and pass my Spanish and Global regents and my English final. But since then, I have been working very hard to finish both my biology and math B course and study so that I could take both of those regents confidently. Well, both of those tests were actually scheduled for today, and by 3:00 both were finished...but I took the math with a little more confidence than the bio. I am so glad that the tests are finally over, I have been working so hard and hopefully it pays off.
Just another thing to check off the list...
I know that there were many of you praying for me to do well today on my tests, thank you for that!
And today is my dad's birthday!!!
Love,
Erin Renee

So everything has been so well, and we have been so busy lately that we have been forgetting to post blogs. I am very sorry. The weekend was good, dad got a new bike, and Karen, Kelsey and Carolyn came over for dinner Sunday. Yesterday, I had a doctors appointment and it went very well, my counts were good, but expected to go down.. darn it. And today, Mrs. Sauer (bio teacher) is coming over to help me do some last minute preparing for the regents on Thursday. Can't wait...
Not quite sure what else is going on...just hanging out!!
Hope you all had a good weekend and beginning of the week! Despite the rainy weather...

Hey everyone,
Hi all, it's Lori, I am posting because Erin is taking a nap and I just realized she hasn't posted in a couple of days. The good news is the reason she hasn't is because she has been getting stronger and stronger and has been spending time with friends and going here and there. She finished chemo tments for this round and so far has had no side effects. Erin is all caught up with all her school work, with the exception of two regents which she will take next week. We were very lucky to have had Anne Beasley as a tutor, she has been amazing! Thanks Anne!!! We will continue to work with her until Erin starts school.
The rest of us Beitz's have been doing well also. John has been very busy with work trying to get everything done with his hours being cut. Adam has had a great summer spending most of his time at camps playing sports and hanging out with friends. I have also been spending time with family, friends, and getting back to more of my "normal" routine. Won't be long and I will return to work. I am actually looking forward to that.
Thanks for continuing to check on Erin. Please continue your prayers. We are not finished yet, but oh so close!!!
Have a great day, Love, Lori

I am so sorry that I haven't posted in a few days... I have been pretty busy.
Saturday, we all went to the Revette's house for a lacrosse party, and Sunday Adam went to a wrestling thing at Turning Stone and mom, dad, and I went to Uncle Tim's to see Brooke, Eric and Ethan. Then, yesterday, mom, Adam, and I went to the Senior Center to meet some of Grandma's friends. Also, Suzie, Amy, and Amanda came over and we played Scattergories, it was a lot of fun.
Today, starts my treatment, and I really hope there aren't many side effects...
It's going to be a hot one today!!!
Love you all,
Erin

Today, I first did some school work, and I am so close to being done, it's great! But, of course, I love doing the math instead of the science. But it's all good.
Then, I just kinda hung out with mom while Adam was in Cortland watching the Jets with Uncle Tim and Benjamin. He just got home, and it sounds like they had fun.
And tonight, I'm not really sure what we are going to do. I wanna go out for ice cream. :)
We'll see...

Sorry that i didn't post yesterday, but it was a good day. Mom and dad had a meeting to go to, so Adam and I went to Kimber'w house while we were waiting. Kimber and I played cards and Adam and Tristen caused trouble!!!! Then after, mom and I came home and just relaxed, and Adam went to lacrosse practice. We watched bachelorette after we picked him up.
Then today, I was supposed to start treatment but, my counts were too low so I have to wait until next week to start. After we left the doctors, Mom, Adam and I went out to lunch, and then to bring some stuff to the rescue mission. Now, we are going to Adam's last lacrosse game! I will let you know how it goes! :)
Hope you all are staying cool.

Well today was grandmas birthday, so we spent the morning having breakfast and playing cards with her.
At around 12:00, Adam had some friends come over and grandma left, so mom and I spent the rest of the day with them. This consisted of going to Fun Junction, which I didn't think I would like, but it was kinda cool. Then we went to Cicero Country Pizza for dinner and then came home. And now I know you are wondering where my dad is...well he went to a wedding reception/party for someone from his work. We missed him!
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!!!! Hopefully no rain tomorrow.
And I would like to ask that everyone prays for my friend Robin, who is in Rochester recovering from a bone marrow transplant, and for my friend Katlyn, who is in Schenectady receiving treatment after a terrible car accident. Thank you!

Hi everyone,
We have been so busy, which is a very good thing!! I am posting because Erin is working on math work now and the tutor is coming, doctors appt, and then some running around. Another very busy day planned-Erin is getting stronger and stronger everyday. She is now able to fit into her old clothes!!!!
Yesterday Karen took a half day and spent the afternoon with us. We went to Olive Garden (my favorite) for lunch, more furniture browsing (for Erin's make a wish room makeover) and to Verizon where she got a new phone.(same #). Then Kimber and family came for dinner and spent the evening with us.
We hope you are all enjoying your summer, most of you are probably thinking it is going by too fast, and normally I would agree, but this summer can not end soon enough as the end of summer will also be the end of Erin's treatments!!!!! Meanwhile we will make the most of these summer days and hope you do the same.
Have a great weekend.

Started off the day with the tutor, like always. Then, I had a doctors appointment, and the doctor said that counts look good and treatment should start somewhere around the beginning of August, but possibly earlier. And after that, mom and I came home for about a half hour and then we all took off for Adam's lax game against CNS, where he kept up his streak of scoring at least 1 goal a game! And we won! :)
So again, another good day!
Hope you all are having good days too!

Were sorry that we have been so behind lately, we seem to forget sometimes. Yesterday was a fun day, mom went to Dr. Hamati's house for an employee only party, so dad, Adam and I went to Oswego to watch my old softball team play. They won the first two games, but unfortunately lost the third. After, we came home, made dinner, and then mom got home and we all watched Click together.
And as for today, we have already gone to church and the mall to get new shoes for Adam. And for the rest of the day, Adam has a birthday party to go to, dad and mom have some house work, and if I am not helping them, I will probably be resting.
Not such nice weather today...

She is feeling good and should start next treatment the first week of August. After appt. John met us for lunch. Erin's eating is back to normal and she now weighs 110 lbs!!! As for weekend plans, I am going to Dr. Hamati's house for a party, of course Susan will go and it will be nice to be with some friends I have not spent time with in a while. Im not sure what the rest of the family will do today, but Im sure they will come up with something. John and Adam had a very busy week, so maybe they can get some rest today. Oh yeah, Erin made dinner last night!!!! She is getting so much stronger. Yay!!!!!
Enjoy your weekend

Sorry that I didn't post yesterday...it was a busy day!
This Thursday was so busy because Karen took a half day to hang out with us for a while. When she got here, the tutor was still here, but after she left and Adam got home, we all took a trip to the mall, and then to Wegman's. Then, when we got home, we made dinner, which was delicious. (meat and vegetable kabobs) Grandma came over and ate with us too, because we had a ton of food! And we also made this really good dessert, but idk how to explain it. I fell asleep early, but Karen didn't leave until like 10:15. It was a good day and night.
Hope you all are also having good days! And enjoying the weather! :)

There is no special reason why I am writing today, I just had the computer so I told Erin I would. Things have been going very well with Erin and she is getting stronger every day. Today has been another busy day. Lots of company all day, ending with Carol Lynn coming over and having dinner with me and Erin. ( John, Adam, Tristen went to a car show ) Adam has been very busy with lacrosse and this week basketball camp. Next week lacrosse camp. Even though we are all very busy it is so nice to all be home together.
Hope you are all enjoying your summer. Please continue praying for Erin as we are so close to the end, but still have a ways to go.

Now, I have been home for a little bit, but mom and I are leaving to go to Kimber's house, and Adam and dad are going to Adam's game.

Well didn't leave the house today, but got a lot of stuff done.
First, mom and I went through a lot of the cards, banners, etc. that I have received, and sorted it all out into bins. Of course, we weren't going to get rid of the stuff, but we had to straiten it out. And that took a while, a large portion of the day.
And then, mom and I started to make a poster board with pictures on it of things that we would like for the new room that I am asking for, for Make A Wish. (which also took up a good chunk of time)
I know I have already said this before, but it is great to be feeling a little more back to normal. I knew the time would come.
Love you all,

Were going to get through. I know that most all of you have been saying that since the beginning and now it's coming true.

Today was a pretty good day. Started off busy, Dad leaving for work, getting Adam ready for his party, and having the tutor come over. After that, we had a couple hours to just hang out and relax, and then off to church. Then, after church, we went out to dinner at Ruby Tuesday, and then went to a couple stores in the mall.
Obviously, I am feeling a lot better. I am now pretty positive that the fever resulted from the chemo. Which is great. And also, my counts haven't completely dropped yet, but are on their way down...
Hope everyone had a good day today, and avoided those darn thunderstorms!!!

So, for those of you who haven't heard, this morning at around 12:30 I had a fever of 101.4 and had to go to the ER. Of course, when I got there, it was gone. So all they did was take cultures, and put me on an antibiotic. At around 4:00 AM I was sent home. You see some crazy people in the ER, let me tell you.
Today, I had a check up appointment on 5C and again they put me on antibiotics, and sent me home. Now, if I get a fever they are just telling me to take Tylenol instead of coming in.
I hope that these are the only side effects of this chemo. I had to expect some..
I know it hasn't gotten too bad because of all your prayers. Thank you.
Love,
Erin Renee

Even though I am getting some side effects, everything is still going well, so hopefully it stays like this.

So today was my 2nd day of treatment and so far everything seems to be going good. Tomorrow is the 3rd and last day that I have to go to the hospital, and hopefully everything goes well then too. It is great that I am feeling good, but there is one problem...my counts still drop. And right now and until I know that my counts are doing pretty good, I have to be really careful about where I go and stuff so that I can hopefully avoid getting sick.
The only other thing that I am planning on doing today is watching a movie with my mom, and it will be easy because Adam and Dad will be gone at Adam's game. So, overall, a pretty calm and quiet day, but that's alright cause it wasn't too nice outside anyways.
Love you all,
Erin Renee
P.S. Sandy - it's funny that you mentioned you were looking forward to working with our family. I said the same thing about you and Joe when you left our house. We are also looking forward to meeting Kristen.

Today, we also visited Nick because it is his birthday and we gave him his present.
Overall, not too bad. Besides it's a nice day so I might have to go sit out there.

I'm sorry that there was no blog last night, we had a late couple of nights and were just so tired last night when we got home. For those of you who don't know where we were, my Uncle Tim threw a 4th of July party so we didn't have to worry about it and it was so much fun!
And as for today, it was pretty busy. We all went to church, then went to the mall and I got a couple nice outfits (yay!) and then when we came home, the Make a Wish crew came over to confirm my wish and fill out paperwork. After everything, Grandma came over and played cards. So, overall it was a great day.
Treatment starts tomorrow, going to be there with Barbie. I know all of you will be thinking of me though, and I thank you for that.
Love you all,
Erin Renee

Last night was our benefit party at Kimber's house, where we were presented with the money that was raised at Erin's fundraisers and benefit.
It has always been hard for me to stand up in front of people and give a speech. I really need to let you all know what my heart is feeling.
I do need to echo John in the fact that of course the money is wonderful, and we will definitely make the right choices and put it to good use, but, life is much more important than money and material objects.
I never imagined I would have the love that I have for both Erin and Adam as a mom, and as a wife for John. There have been times in the past that I would think my life was too good to be true, and then six months ago, God gave us a reminder that life was not meant to be perfect. What we have endured over the last months has at times been a living hell for our family and especially for Erin. I knew in the beginning that this could either make or break our family, I can now honestly say that this journey has made our family stronger and closer than ever.
I know I became the person that I am today because of how I was raised. You all know my wonderful mom, and for those of you who did not know him, I had a one of a kind, very special dad, and add to that two sisters and a brother that have always been there with love and respect for each other.
I have always had a strong sense of what I want out of life and I have always tried to surround myself with people who I feel make me a better person. I believe that if you have one true best friend, you are blessed. Well I was lucky enough to have three-Kimber, Karen, and Carol Lynn-and I thank God for them every day. To that blessing, add many great friendships both old and new found.
My life goal is to set an example to Erin and Adam about the important things in life, all of you are that example. To those at the party and to those who were unable to come-from the bottom of my heart, I say thank you for all that you are and all that you have done.
With love,
Lori

So again not too much happened today...mom and I went to the high school to pick up the stuff that was in my gym locker, and then she stopped at Wal Mart to pick up a couple of things. After we got home, we watched a movie, and now Kimber is here.
Tomorrow, I have a doctors appointment at 10:00 and I think the tutor might be coming over sometime after that. And then, the big benefit party!! :) So excited...
Should be a good day!

Hey Everyone,
I just realized Erin didn't leave a blog yesterday so I will now and Erin will later. Yesterday was my friend Dr. Howil's birthday so we surprised her with a visit to her office, she was so happy because she hasn't seen Erin in a long time. Tutor came in the afternoon and Karen, Kelsey and Carolyn came for dinner and to hang out for a while. Adam has been at Kimber's for the last two days - he may never come home. Im sure he is having a GREAT TIME!!! Very busy days ahead, dr's appt. tomorrow to see if counts are ready for treatment to start Monday.
Have a good day,
Love, Lori and Erin

And, I am feeling pretty good, but, I have this little cold thing coming on and it stinks! Hopefully it will go away soon.
I love you all!

Well, we are home again but it took them like 7 hours to discharge me! What a pain. Dad and I are going to go up to East Coast to see Mom and Adam and everyone else for a little bit and then come home and probably go strait to bed...
Not much exciting happened today.

Hi everyone,
Sorry I didn't write yesterday. We had a rough day, starting Thursday at 3am Erin started having involuntary body movements. Along with this she was having a lot of back pain and high blood pressure. This all lasted until about 1pm. To help determine the cause of all of this Erin had another CT scan and MRI all of which showed no problems. Turns out it was a reaction to an antibiotic she was on, it is now out of her system and she is better. Talk about scary, especially for Erin. John came when this all started and ended up spending the night with Erin as I went home to get some much needed sleep, of course I was well taken care of by my BFF's (thanks girls).
Friday- I am back at the hospital after a good nights sleep. John has left to go to work for a little while and then go home to mow the lawn and take care of the pool. Erin is much better today and they have actually given her the option of going home today. It is nice to know that clinically they feel she is ready to go home but mentally neither Erin or I are quite ready yet. Due to all of the side effects she has been experiencing and all of the incidents we have had at home it can be very scary to be away from the hospital where help is only the push of a button away. So Erin will stay until we all feel comfortable with her going home. The weekend plan is for john to come back to stay with Erin and i am going camping with some family and friends, Adam is already there and I can't wait to spend time with him. Hope all of you have a great weekend.
Love,
Lori, John, Erin and Adam

Hey everyone,
Erin had a good day today. It was a day filled with many visitors, Susan, Olga, Tim, Brooke, Uncle Dave, and Carol Lynn. Also Adam came with John and because of lacrosse we haven't seen him since Sunday. So you can see why this was a good day.
There was never any infection found so we are waiting for counts to go up and make sure feeding tube is working okay(so far so good).
We hope you all had a good day.

Hey everyone,
Now we can add one more thing to our been there done that list. One of which we hope to never have to do again. We don't really have any answers at this time as to infection or no infection. But... we want you all to know that Erin is feeling much better, and is even doing her Spanish regents.
John is spending the day with us again today! Kimber came last night and stayed until about 1 am. Karen is coming tonight and Carol Lynn is coming tomorrow - have I ever mentioned I have the BEST FRIENDS in the world !?
Hope you all have a good day.

Well it sure is Monday...
Not a good day for us. Starting on 7h with Erin having a lot of pain (stomach), also elevated heart rate, low counts, and got to the point that she was not able to respond to us. So we have moved to I C U . Erin must have an infection which is causing all of this. Testing is being done to determine where the infection is. After an xray of stomach can you believe the STUPID feeding tube moved AGAIN and had to be taken out. We will once again have that replaced after we figure all this out. Next test will be a CT scan of stomach, that will be later tonight. John is with us, and right now Erin is doing okay. We will keep you all updated with info. as we get it. We are not able to use cell phones, when we are in the room they are off.
Please continue praying for Erin.
Love, Lori and John
P.S. Danielle thank you for all the kind things you say about our family. You girls are all very special.

Good morning all,
Yesterday afternoon Erin did not feel good at all. She had a low grade fever and was in a lot of discomfort, overall body aches. She became very weak to the point that she could barely stand. During this time John and Adam were in Cortland for lacrosse. But THANKFULLY my friend Karen was with me, we ended up taking Erin to the E.R. were they admitted her back to 7h. Once she was given pain med and IV fluids she began to feel better. John came and ended up spending the night with Erin.
This morning it is tradition that my family meets at my dads grave and then we all go out for fathers day brunch. Adam and I will do this and then head up to the hospital to be with John and Erin.
Happy Fathers day to all of you dads, I hope you all enjoy your day. Of course to my mister, happy fathers day! I love you so much and I think Erin and Adam have the BEST DAD in the world. Thank you for being the man that you are.
Please continue praying for Erin.
Love, Lori

Hey everyone,
Unfortunately Erin is not feeling good today, but was able to take her Global regents, so that was a good accomplishment. She had a appt. on 5c today and she got platelets.
I'm thinking these out patient treatments aren't going to be as easy as we thought. I should have known better by now. Next treatment will begin around the beginning of July.
We are hoping that tomorrow will be a better day for Erin.
Have a good night,
Love, Lori and John
P.S I have to "brag" about our boy. Considering all our family has gone through this year Adam has ended the year receiving the PRESIDENTIAL AWARD which means his overall average was a 90 or above. We are so proud of Adam!!!!

Well, I started off the day by attempting my Biology Regents, but since I have only taken about half the course, most of the test was foreign to me and I couldn't do it.
During the test, Kimber came over, and she reassured me that it was okay to not be able to take the test today. Then, around 2:30, Grandma came over with a surprise visit and we played May I. But, after I started not feeling well, nausea and body aches, but they come and go, and I just have to fight through it.
Everything should be getting better soon.
Global Regents and doctors appointment tomorrow, hopefully it all goes well.
Lots of love,
Erin Renee

So it has been a pretty busy day, but fun. No major plans for the rest of the night, but I'm sure we will find something to do.
Love you all!
So happy to be home.

Hi everyone,
We are home after our last scheduled in patient treatment!!! I am typing this because Erin is sleeping but I wanted everyone to know we are home. Erin's feet are still sore but much better. I have to say we will definitely miss all the staff on 7h, we met and were cared for by some very special people. I hope we showed our appreciation of all of you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
As for the remaining treatments, we have three more out patient. We have appt Friday and will keep you updated with our schedule.
Thanks to all of you for caring enough to check on Erin's progress.
Once again to all of you on 7h, may God bless you as you are a blessing to so many patients and their family.

Hi everyone,
Well I am back at the hospital with Erin after a very busy weekend home. I did a lot of visiting and spent time with my mom, Tim, Nadine, Brooke, Ethan, Karen, Dr. Howil and Olga. And last but certainly not least Adam and Teddy!!
Today has been a little better for Erin than the weekend was. Her feet are not as bad, we now have to wait for her levels to get to certain point before she would be able to go home, and then of course having the pain under control.
We hope that you are all doing well and look forward to spending more time at home, with the ability to spend more time with all of you.
Have a good night,

So, as you all know, some of the chemo drugs give me some nasty burns on my hands and feet but, to try and prevent that, I soaked my hands and feet while that drug was being infused. Unfortunately, I still ended up with some pretty bad burns on my feet and I have been on pain meds like around the clock. Its no fun!
But, I just have to keep reminding myself that this is the last major chemo and things should be getting better from now on.
Because chemo is just ending, it might be a while before I have visitors. Sorry everyone, I have to wait for my counts to come up! I will keep you updated on how everything is going though.
Love you all so much,
Erin Renee

Hopefully everything keeps going well, and it will be nice because my mom, adam, uncle tim, aunt nadine and ethan are all coming up. That will be good to see everyone, even if I'm not feeling so hot.
All of your prayers are appreciated.

Well today, my main treatment consisted of a spinal tap, some pills, and a 30 minuted infusion of doxo. It all went well but because they sedate me for the spinal tap, I became very tired and slept for about the wholeeeeeee day! I was so tired...better now.
Mom just left for her weekend off, and dad took over, which is fine with me.
Tomorrow is pretty much the same with treatment, except no spinal tap!
And then, all I have to do is wait for my Methotrexate level to go down before I leave. Hopefully it is only 72 hours like last time!
Love you all,

Hey everyone,
Well as you all know we are back at the hospital. The first thing we had done was have feeding tube fixed. This was uncomfortable for Erin, but not too bad. Unfortunately at this time Erin is soaking her hands and feet in ice water (during 4hr chemo tment to help avoid side affects) and it is very painful for her. John even put his hand in with hers to help. There will be three days of chemo this round.
Have a good night and please keep Erin in your prayers.

As for Bio and Math, I am going to have to finish the work in the summer and probably take the regents in August. Which it is great that I have that option!
Then, Kimber and Karen were here for lunch, and Karen stayed til about 5:30, when my mom and I went to my cousin Benjamin's baseball game. Now, I am going to eat dinner and have a good night's sleep in my own bed before I have to go back to the hospital for a little while.
We will continue to keep you updated while I am in the hospital.

Today, I have a couple of little things to do for school before the tutor comes and I have to work with my mom to get ready to go back to the hospital. We want to get that work done today because tomorrow Karen has a half day and we will spend the day with her! Tonight, the tutor is coming over and I may have some visitors, but I am not sure.
I hope you all are having a good day!

Hi all,
Well we started the day off with a visit to 5c where we received news that all counts are good and should be chemo ready for Thursday. After appt. big surprise Erin wanted to go shopping, so we did and we had a good time.
THEN... when we got home Erin felt sick, and to spare you some details, while getting sick her feeding tube was coming out of her mouth. I had no idea this could happen and needless to say it was very scary for both me and Erin. So off to the ER we went. Long story short, this does not usually happen, but has been known to happen before. Xray showed no damage done and they are leaving as is until appt. on Thursday, when they will reposition it.
Now... I am ready for bed and will be praying for a stress free day tomorrow.
Good night,
Love, Lori

Well, we got up early, got ready, and went to East Coast Resorts to meet Aunt Barb, Uncle Dave, Taylor and Ben with Susie and Corrie. It was a lot of fun playing cards and Farkle. And while we were there my brother and dad were at a lacrosse tournament, they ended up 1-2. After, we came back home to my Aunt Laurie and Matt, which was also a good visit. They are still here, and we are going to go to Kimber's for a bonfire which should be great! I can't wait! Tomorrow is also going to be just as busy.
Also, I want to make sure and thank all of those in Gloversville right now who are running in the Relay For Life for me today! That's wonderful!

Then, Karen came over for lunch and after that the tutor came over for a little while. I am really getting caught up with school work because of this break.
After they all left, I had a little time to rest before Suzie, Amy and Amanda came over to visit. My mom was happy to finally have met Suzie. We had a lot of fun, sharing memories and old stories. It was great!

Tonight my mom and Aunt Bill are coming over. We will probably play cards!!
Another doc appt tomorrow checking counts again, and we will probably get date of next treatment.

We had a very busy day today. I am very tired but for the first time in a very long time I couldn't sleep but for good reasons. I think I spent half the night thanking God for our good news.
Today Erin had a drs appt and she needed platelets, they are still very low so she will not be starting her next treatment until sometime next week. After drs we went to lunch and then shopping. Then Erin's friends Caity and Amanda came over and my friend Carol Lynn. When they left the tutor came and Erin worked with her for an hour and half. So like I said we had a very busy day, but very enjoyable.
Now we are going to watch the softball world series. Hope you all have a good night.

Of course we must start with thanking God, and all of you for all the prayers. We are so blessed to have so many special people in our lives.
Erin will now complete treatment as scheduled. She will begin a series of four maintenance chemo. treatments. As of right now the first treatment will be inpatient, but easier than previous treatments. The remaining treatments will most likely be out patient.
So... we still have a ways to go, but we now know what we are going through is well worth it. Please continue praying for us as we begin our downhill ride.

Hey everyone,
Well yesterday was a rough day for both me and Erin. As you know this has been a very long road, most of which has been an uphill climb. I think we are both just missing our everyday life and are tired of spending so much time in the hospital.
On a brighter note- today is a better day and Erin is feeling better. In order to go home the rate of her feeding tube has to be at 70. It is now at 45 and we are trying to increase it by 5 every 4 hours, if she can tolerate that she will be at 70 by tomorrow at 8am. If this along with her need for pain med is controlled we should be able to come home soon.
Hope that you are all having a good day. We miss you all more than you know. Please continue praying for our family.
With love, Lori and Erin

Although Erin is still not feeling great we ended up having a pretty good day. Kimber visited this morning and Erins friend Amanda came with her mom. So that means I went for two walks today. Im afraid the word is going to get out that I will make visitors go for a walk AND take the stairs!
Im looking forward to seeing Adam tonight, I miss him. Im sure he had a great time camping. Not much else going on, waiting for this stomach virus to go away. The docs are saying it takes a person in good health 7-10 days to get rid of virus, so we have to expect it to take longer.
Thanks to everyone for thinking and praying for us.

Plans for today are to hopefully get outside a little bit, and maybe see Katlyn or get to talk to her mom or dad. Then who knows? Maybe there will be something good on TV or something, which there never is!
Looking like I am going to miss Memorial Day, but I don't really ever remember celebrating it...

If you didn't already know, there was a volleyball tournament at Oswego for me, and it was very successful. Thanks Coach Nicklaw!
It means a lot to me that everyone is still caring and supporting!
Love,
Erin Renee
p.s. Please pray for my friend Katlyn who is currently in ICU due to a motor vehicle accident.

Well... another week has come to an end. Once again Erin is doing a little better today than yesterday. I would guess she might come home early next week, which would still give us a break before next treatment starts.
Today we were surprised by a visit from my friend Mary (Sciacca) Moore. I was maid of honor in her wedding and Erin was flower girl. I think Erin was five. Mary brought pictures and we had a very nice visit.
This weekend Adam is going camping with his friend Derek and his family. So Karen, Derek, and Adam came to visit and say goodbye before they went camping. Thank-you to the Mayer family for bringing Adam,I know he will have a great time.
John went home to mow lawn and clean pool before his weekend stay at hospital. He should be here soon so I will get my stuff together now.
One of Erin's classmates was involved in a car accident. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with Katlyn Fleury and her family.
Have a nice weekend,
Love, Lori and Erin

Hi Everyone,
Erin's feeling a little better again today, and has been up more. Really no other changes and we still don't know when we will be going home.
Today I made Kimber walk with me, I think she had trouble keeping up.(NOT!!!)
This was a special day for me because I had two very special people visit. Kimber spent the first half of the day with us and Karen is here spending the second half!!
Hope you all have a good day,

Hi All,
Another quiet day, again Erin spending the majority of the day sleeping. She does feel a little better today, hopefully this is a pattern that will continue. I have been going for walks everyday and always use the stairs instead of the elevator for some exercise, we are on the seventh floor so thats a lot of stairs.
Speaking of exercise...we would like to give special thanks to teams ROTEN and STEWART for honoring Erin in the Relay for Life. Just another example of the very special people in our lives, who are supporting us in so many ways. We will be thinking of you on the fifth and look forward to hearing all about the event. Many thanks and love to all who participate.
Visitors today include Tim and Grandma!!!
Love to all, Lori and Erin

Really no changes from yesterday. Erin still pretty much feeling the same and spends most of the day sleeping. This is hard for me because I just want to talk to her. Nadine came during lunch and we went for a nice walk. Barb and Dave came in the afternoon and Carol Lynn came after work. Thanks to all for visiting it means a lot to me, and helps me get through the tough days.

As John posted last night our stay at home was very short. After six hours in the ER we finally got readmitted. Erin was too weak to be home, having stomach problems which caused her to become dehydrated. She tested positive for a viral infection, added to the "normal" chemo side effects, results in Erin not feeling so good. Hoping for a better day tomorrow.
Have a good night, please continue to pray for Erin.

Hi everyone,
Well our trip home has not gone as well as we had hoped. We had to bring Erin back into the ER at 4:00 today and we are thinking they will put her back up on 7H tonight. She is having a lot of the same complications from the treatment that she had last time and she will be better off in the hospital. Sorry no one was able to come see her while she was home but hopefully she will be feeling better soon.
Love
John

Hi to all,
It's hard to believe that it is Friday already, this week has gone by fast. So that means John will come after work today and I will go home for the weekend. Not sure yet as to when Erin will be coming home, but things are looking good so it may be soon, she is definitely keeping her fingers crossed.
This round of treatment will end tomorrow morning at 8am. One more to check off the list!!! Erin is feeling okay. She is still getting headaches and her stomach is bothering her.

Good morning,
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love "my girl" and how very proud I am of her. I would also like to mention how proud I am of "my boy" and of course "my mister". How does one person get blessed with the amazing family and friends that I have? I love you all sooo much.
Yesterday was a very busy day for us. Speaking of amazing family and friends check out this list of visitors. My mister, Susan, Nadine, Kimber, Carol Lynn, and Olga all in one day at different times. And today Karen is getting out of work at noon and spending the day with us!!!
Erin is doing well with this round. She has had sinus headaches, and some mouth sores, all of which is very manageable. Two more days of treatment, next tment starts around June 5 with an MRI scheduled prior to tment.
Hope you all have a good day.

Hi everyone,
I just want to take a second and explain something you may be reading in a couple of the messages in the guest book. Erin made what is called the Top 100 at her high school, these are the top 25 students in each grade 9-12.
Lori and I have been proud to attend these dinners since Erin was in middle school, but I have never been as proud as I was tonight when I was able to walk up and accept Erins' award for her for being 3rd in her class. I couldn't stop smiling as I was standing up there with all of the other 10th grade students, and then they were gracious enough to let me read a note that Erin had prepared for me to read to the audience, the applause was awesome. I told the kids that were up there with me I hope that their pictures aren't ruined because there is an old guy in the photo with them, but I don't think any of them minded.
I just wanted to let everyone know how proud we are of Erin and how with all of the love and support we have from EVERYONE we will get through this stronger than ever. Thank-you all.
Love,
John

Hi all,
So far this treatment has gone better than we expected. Erin started feeling not so good last night with getting sick and having a headache. This morning she is feeling better but is very tired. Even though she got sick she says she feels stronger body wise than previous treatments, Im sure that is due to the fact that her feeding tube is working and she has been able to eat. Chemo continues today, we are expecting some visitors and school work if she feels up to it. Oh yeah and play our new favorite game FARKLE ( thanks buddy!!).
Barbie thanks for visiting last night.
Have a good day everyone, Love Lori and Erin
Special thanks to Suzie Gray and Amy Gass for writing in guest book so often. Iam looking forward to meeting Suzie, I know Amy from softball but not that well. My hope is that Erin becomes good friends with both of you. You girls are very special.

Thank you all for keeping updated, and keeping me in your prayers.

Next treatment starts right back up on Monday, but hopefully that won't be too bad.
Thanks to everyone who had anything to do with the benefit! It was just perfect, a day that I will never forget.

Hi everyone,
Well Erin actually started treatment yesterday. To help to avoid the bad side effects of her hands and feet during this four hour treatment they had Erin soak her hands in buckets of ice the whole time. This was very difficult for her but she made it through so lets pray that it works. Today she had a spinal tap, which at this point she has had so many that she doesn't get bothered by them. These two things were suppose to be done at the end of last treatment but were delayed. Now we wait for her levels to clear and then start next treatment, most likely right away. Yesterday Susan was smart and took the day after benefit off so she came and visited - guess what we talked about! Thanks again and again to everyone who made our day so special.
Please continue to pray for Erin
Love,
Lori
P.S. BIG GAME tonight!! C.S. lax vs C.N.S. varsity girls - my niece coaches C.N.S. she will be interviewed by channel 9 talking about Erin.

Hi Everyone,
Honestly, we don't even know where to begin, or if words alone will ever be enough to describe how we feel. Yesterday is a day which our family will never forget. From the moment we were picked up by the limo to the time we arrived home at 8pm it was a day filled with so much love, support, and generosity.
We were truly overwhelmed by the amount of people who attended the benefit. It was just amazing! There were friends that John and I went to school with who we have not seen since our graduation, and of course all our family and friends, some of which traveled quite a distance.
Once again, thank you to everyone. We appreciate all of you for everything you have done to make our benefit so successful. We are back at the hospital now and Erin has been talking none stop with all the staff about what a wonderful day she had yesterday!
With love,
Lori and John

So I have to go back to the hospital on Monday, and I hate for this break to end, but I am looking forward to my benefit tomorrow and seeing everyone that I haven't seen in a while.
The last week has been very interesting. I thought I was going to have to go back to the hospital early, because I was getting fevers and I was having trouble breathing, plus I fainted at Kinney's. But when I went to the doctors yesterday, we found the cause of these troubles and things are already getting better.
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
Thank you for all that you have done!

Today, Karen visited for lunch, and I believe that my Aunt Nadine, Aunt Barbie, and Kimber are going to stop by tonight.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the benefit!!!

Besides that, I have just been resting, because I am so tired out. Plus, the tutor is coming at 5 so I have to be not so tired for her. I am finally going to start working on the math midterm.
Let me know if you would want to visit.

I know yesterday I didn't write, but I went to Wal-Mart shopping with my mom and grandma, had Morgan, Amanda, and Catie over to visit and went to the meeting for the benefit at Kimber's house.
So far it has been a great stay at home but I'm sure it will get even better!

So, this weekend I can't wait to get out even more cause it is supposed to be really nice out!!! That will be great.

Other than that counts keep going up and healing is progressing nicely.

It was also great today that I was able to talk to Sheldon on the phone...I haven't been in touch with him in forever. And then after I got off the phone, mom and I watched Mamma Mia, which we have already seen, but it is still good.

Kimber also brought four huge Easter baskets, one for each of us. A nice end to the day was visits from Nicole, then Tim and Nadine. Thanks to all of you for making our day so special! Now it is my pleasure to hand this keyboard over to Erin who is feeling much better!

Just wanted to send out a quick note to say Happy Easter to all of you. It is now day 20 and we are still in the hospital, but we are seeing small improvements each day. We are not sure how much longer we will be here or how soon they will want to start the next round but hopefully Erin can get a little time at home first. Erin has been feeling a little better and has been awake more and her energy is improving. Amanda, one of Erins friends from her softball team stopped up yesterday for a visit with an Easter basket put together by the girls on the team, thank-you all so much for doing that for Erin. We hope you all have a great Easter.

Yesterdays surgery to have port removed went well. Blood culture results after port removed came back negative and fevers have subsided, all of which is good news. However last night Erin had alot of pain in her abdominal area. We then had a xray done right in our room. In the morning still having alot of pain and stomach bloating drs wanted another xray to see if there was air in her stomach. Results being no air, which we are very thankful for as that would have meant another surgery needed. They have now stopped the feeding for today, this making Erin much more comfortable. Dr. is saying that intestines need to heal from chemo. and at that time feeding should go better, and stomach pain should subside. White blood cell counts should be rising daily with which we should see improvements in all areas.
Keep Erin in your thoughts and prayers,
Love, Lori

Good afternoon everyone,
Sixteen days and we still have no idea on when we will be going home. Next treatment was scheduled to begin Friday, that is delayed until we have recovered from this round. Today we have surgery scheduled to have her port removed as she has a bacterial infection ,due to low blood counts and fever the port can not be replaced at this time. So... that will be another surgery needed. VERY FRUSTRATING!!! Meanwhile Erins hands and eye are healing and feeling much better.
Mom came to spend time with us today, Januszk is coming after work, thanks to both of you for being here for me and Erin.

Even though the weather has gotten a little worse over the last couple days we all know that it is temporary and there will be sunshine, blue skies and warm temps. to come. This is the same way we are trying to cope with Erin's treatments. Even though the treatments make things worse for the short term and are often very hard to deal with, we know that, like the weather it is only temporary and there are better days coming. Just as the trees lose their leaves in the winter and look bare and than come back in spring with new buds and new life so will Erin, and then, like the winter this will all be a distant memory. So lets all be thankful for these rainy days, for they will bring what we are all waiting for.

Hi everyone,
Lori has gone home for the weekend after a very difficult week. Erin is starting to make some progress in recovering from this last treatment but it is very slow. Her counts are still very low and she is getting red cell transfusions and platelets daily, she is also on a couple of antibiotics to ward off infections while her white count recovers. Erin still sleeps most of the day but she has been a little more alert when awake and that should continue to get better each day. We still are not sure when we will be able to take her home but I am sure we will be here for at least a couple more days. Lori and Erin enjoyed all of the visitors this week and anyone else that would like to come up is more than welcome. Thanks also for all of the great messages, we love to read them.

John

At this point we are not in much better shape than we were yesterday (but not worse) and hopefully we will see some improvement throughout the day, the doctors are just saying we basically need to just wait it out. When Erin is awake she does like for me to read her all the messages so thank-you to all who are writing and please keep them coming. I want to also send out a huge thank-you to Erik Nicklaw, Erin's volleyball coach who took part in the St.Baldricks day fundraiser by shaving his head and raising money for childhood cancer in Erin's name. This has been another challenging treatment for Erin and we ask that you continue to pray for her.
Love you all,
Lori

So much to do, and so many people to thank!
It is great that this weekend I was feeling good, because I was able to attend all of the "Carin' for Erin" fundraisers. Starting Friday with the Bake Sale downtown-then Saturday with the Spaghetti Dinner at my church-ending Sunday with the brunch at The Brick House Cafe. Thanks to everyone who made these events possible! And those who attended.
Love you all!
Erin Renee
Oh yeah...if you see any bags of bottles on the side of the street, my Aunt Susie probably dropped them out of her truck on her way home from the bottle drive.

As most of you probably know, I love shopping. But of course recently I haven't been able to do that. But, the last two days my mom and I have been able to get out of the house and pick up a couple of things that we have been wanting to get. Today we will go out once more to search for a birthday present for my brother, even though he won't tell us what he wants!!!
And after all of this shopping, I plan to rest, to get ready for company that is coming.
Thank you all for your support!
Lots of love,
Erin Renee xoxo

Well since I have missed so much school and am so far behind, now that I am feeling okay, I have some work to do. Today at 11, is math and I will do spanish either today or tomorrow. But, other than that, not much is going on. I would love to get out for a while but who knows what I could actually do...Maybe mom and I will think of something.
Thanks for following my progress.
Love you all!

So I have been home now for about 5 days, and everything is well but still not feeling great. Plus, since things aren't closer to perfect, I have a longer stay at home. They don't want to make me sick again until they make sure I am 100% for a couple of days first. Oh well.
Oh, and sorry that I haven't said anything lately, my internet has been down, but not much news.
Thanks again to all of you for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. I love you all!

So, today I am feeling pretty good and it seems like a lot of people are planning on stopping by and visiting, which is fine by me. Also today, I think I might go to a benefit that I had just heard about.
So far, today is looking like a good day. I hope it stays that way.

So today I was finally allowed to leave the hospital, and because of the extra long stay, I already feel much better than I did when I first got home from last admission.
I also wanted to let anyone who is interested know that I am up for some visitors, but please call first.
I love you all!

So my counts are rising, which means that my rashes and sores are getting better quickly. And with the pain going away, I should be able to go home tomorrow. The only thing is that it will probably be a short stay because next treatment should start sometime next week.
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as I can!!
Erin Renee :)

So another good day goes by, but today I got to do something kinda neat. I was actually able to join my math class via a little TV monitor. (Staying Connected program) They were taking a test and I really wasn't sure about what it was on so I just kinda played with the machine and looked around at the class. (Haha being sure to zoom in on Sheldon a few times =])
Never can say this too many times...Thank you to everyone who is keeping me in your thoughts and prayers!
Love you all!

So, today was a day full of good news! It all started with the long awaited drop of the methotrexate level. Which is one step closer to going home but not quite yet.
Around 11:30, I had an MRI and the results of that were a lot better than I had expected. Actually, the tumor is almost totally gone! (barely visible by the doctors)
Now, this doesn't mean that my treatment is going to end early or anything but it is nice to know that all of this pain and suffering is paying off.
Last but not least, I will be able to come home when I am ready but that means that my next treatment will be delayed a few days. Oh well! I'd rather get away for a few days and be home.
I would like to thank all of you again for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers, because I 100% believe that it is helping me get through this.
Love you lots!

Recently, "why?" is my favorite question. Why is my metholtrexate level rising? Why do I still have burning rashes? Just WHY???!!!! And no one has any type of answer....
Everything is going just the same as mentioned in the last blog so I won't repeat my dad. But please keep me in your prayers everyone, and thank you for having me in your prayers.
Lots of love!!! Always and forever.

Hi everyone,
This message copied from copied from johnandloribeitz@gmail.
I wanted to send out this message to update anyone that might not be following Erin's website and I will also post this to the guest book and blog to try to reach as many people as I can. Please feel free to share this with anyone that may you feel may be interested and please share Erin's website address with anyone that might want to keep up on Erin's progress or post a message. The website is www.erinbeitz.com.
Erin has been in the hospital now for 13 days and it does not look like we will be out for at least a couple more days. Erin has been having a very severe reaction to one of the chemo drugs and that is why we are still here. She has received multiple blood transfusions and platelets as well and her white blood cell count bottomed out on Thursday and she has be battling fevers since then. She has been on constant antibiotics to ward off infection and so far that is working. Erin is supposed to start her next round of chemo on Friday but that may be delayed if she does not recover enough by then, she is also scheduled for an MRI this week to check her progress and we will let you all know when we get the results.
I want to mention the fundraisers that were held this week and the tremendous turnout that each one had. Nadine Vandewalker organized the Pampered Chef party on Thursday and from what I hear it was a huge success. We want to thank everyone that was involved with the planning/set-up and running of the event and of course all of the people that purchased items either at the event or on line. The second event was the dodge ball tournament that was organized by Chris VanMeter and held at Heidi Hazens softball facility, where Erin used to train. This event was also a huge success and thanks to all of the people involved with the event and all of the participants. I was able to attend the dodge ball tourn. for a little while and it overwhelming to see all of the people that came out to support Erin and our family and Lori was able to go to the show on Thursday and said the same thing.
One thing we would like to stress is that while we very much appreciate all of the fundraising that is going on and all of the gifts, money or otherwise that we have received the most important thing is all of the thoughts and prayers that are being said for Erin's recovery. The money raised will all go to Erin's care now and in the future but the thoughts and prayers and good wishes from all of you and from people we don't even know are what is going to heal Erin. I could see it at the dodge ball and I am certain that it was there at the Pampered Chef as well, that while the intent of the events is to raise money, that is secondary to the real reason that people come out and that is to support Erin. The love that I felt in the room for Erin was amazing and that is what will carry us and Erin through all of this long after these events are over. Once again I want to thank everyone involved with the success of both of these events and all of the participants.
LOVE AND GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU
John and Lori

At this point, I am not even in good enough shape to go home. I have now received four units of blood and that gives me more energy so that I am not sleeping all day but for some reason, the 'rashes' or 'burns' that I have just don't want to go away.
It seems like forever now, but things will get better soon.
I love you guys!

pain medicine and lotion really seem to be doing the trick. But the doctor wants me to stay even if my levels are better. Umm...I don't think that that idea is going to go over too well. I am going to do all that I can to get out of here asap! The only problem is my levels still aren't great so I can't get my way out of that...darn it!

It is so difficult to feel good when you are stuck at the hospital. Soon I should be home and I will be sure to update all of you as soon as that happens!
Love you,

Next chemo is starting now...will write again tomorrow with updates.
Love you all!

Well, treatments all went well today...it made it easier to have Caity here while it was all going through. Theres nothing like having your best friend by your side. Hopefully everything will follow schedule and I will be home at the end of the week.
I again would like to thank everyone who leaves messages on my guest book, and everyone who prays for me. I know that all of this support is part of the reason why I am able to get through this difficult time.

Being home is great, but the best part is being able to leave the house and actually see some friends and family. Friday night I was able to go to Ethan's 2nd birthday party and Saturday morning I went to Adam's basketball game and saw a ton of friends that I haven't been able to see in a while. I can't wait until I am able to see more of my friends and family as I get stronger.

Well today was hopefully my last day at the hospital until Monday when I get to go back for more treatments.... But, that means one more treatment down, i don't even know how many left. Just taking this day by day, one step at a time, and will be back to "normal" asap!
I also would like to thank everyone who is sending me cards or leaving posts on my guest book! I just love reading them every day. It really does help the day go by.

Hi everyone, well our time at home didn't last very long, Erin got a fever last night so we had to bring her to the ER and they admitted her. She will probably be there until at least Wednesday. We are working on a way for you all to be able to see our posts easier (this blog) instead of looking through all of the other messages, so look for a change to the guestbook soon. Thanks for all of the great messages, we read all of them, and look forward to new ones everyday. I'll post again tomorrow to let you all know how she is doing.

Good Morning Everyone, we are finally home from the hospital. They sent a nurse to the house last night to teach us how to hook Erin up to IV fluids because she still can't drink enough to stay hydrated, but at least we are home. Erin has an out patient appt. tomorrow and physical therapy and if all goes well we will not go back in to stay until the 23rd. I want to give some recognition to all of the kids and teachers that have posted messages for Erin, and have signed cards from school or sent them from home. The amount of support we have gotten from you guys has been unbelievable and we can't wait until we can see you all to thank you in person. Erin especially can't wait to be able to see all of you again and we hope that will be soon. Since we are home now you can call if you would like to talk to Erin or if she is up to it and you want to visit call us and we'll see if we can have some visitors. Of course you can text her as well and post more messages to. Thanks for everything. You guys are great.

Happy Valentines Day Everyone, we are still in the hospital and hope that we can go home tonight, we will not know until about 6:00. Lori was able to go home last night for a much needed break and I will be here for the weekend. Erin is still not feeling very well and not eating much but is very anxious to get home. We read through all of the new messages this morning and all I can say is WOW. We look forward to all of the new posts and all the words of encouragement. Keep 'em coming. For those of you that are on my e-mail dist. list, I think I am going to start to use this forum to communicate so I can reach anyone that has this web address, friends, family, teachers. So please look for updates on Erins progress here, and you can also check out what everyone else is writing. As always, you can e-mail us directly or call us if you have something you don't want to post here. Thanks for the awesome support.
